ABOUT ME

When I’m not illustrating, I enjoy adventuring with my family and building on my deep love of woodcraft. I live and work in Missouri, but have a passion for the mountains and trails of the western United States.

In my work, I believe every illustration tells a story. Whether depicting the anatomy of a joint or the intricate beauty of the natural world, I use storytelling to guide the viewer through complex scientific concepts. By crafting each visual narrative with intention and clarity, I aim to create a deeper connection and understanding between the science and those who need to see it. Specializing in orthopedic and scientific illustration, I aim to make the science of the human body not only understandable but deeply engaging through my work at Somatic Studios.

My Process

The creative process begins with a deep dive into the subject matter, often collaborating with healthcare professionals and subject matter experts (SME’s) to ensure precision, accuracy, and clarity. Multiple techniques and software are then used to sketch ideas, storyboard, and produce high-quality illustrations and infographics.

Inspiration comes from observing the intricacies of the subject (anatomy, surgery, or the natural world) in order to craft a compelling visual story.
